WILLIAMSON, N.Y. (WHEC-TV) — Lauren Schmeelk is preparing to finish her high school career with a goal of achieving 10 Sectional Championships in soccer and track.

Schmeelk has made a significant mark in the Williamson High School record books, especially in soccer, which has earned her a spot at Roberts Wesleyan College in the fall to study accounting.
“I’m good at math. I’m good at numbers,” Schmeelk said.
Over four seasons, Schmeelk has accumulated 79 goals and 56 assists, totaling 135 points. However, her impact extends beyond statistics, as she is known for her selflessness on the field.
“I feel like I’m very selfless on the soccer field,” Schmeelk said. “When I was thinking about myself and what I need to do better as an individual on the soccer field, not always about team too.”
“We all have our bad days, and when I’m having a bad day she pushes me and that just makes me want to push her that much more,” said teammate Madyson Storey.
“I know a lot of young girls look up to her. Not even just from Williamson, but from other schools as well,” teammate Hannah Governor said.
As Schmeelk approaches her final semester, she reflects on the transition to college athletics with mixed emotions.
“I’m definitely sentimental right now, especially finishing indoor,” Schmeelk said. “But I’m just happy with the way things are and I just think that knowing I still have four more years in college is definitely nice.”
With her positive attitude, Schmeelk is expected to continue her success at Roberts Wesleyan.
