The dynasty for Jesuit High School continued at the Oregon School Activities Association 6A State Swimming Championships.

For the fourth straight year, Jesuit swept the titles, with the girls finishing 70.5 points ahead of runner-up Lakeridge and boys placing 34.5 points ahead of runner-up South Eugene.

Girls’ Recap

Jesuit was led by senior Stela Sufuentes, a UC -Santa Barbara commit who won the 500 free and was a part of two winning relay teams.

After finishing 2nd in the 500 free last year, Sufuentes won the event this year in a time of 5:05.26.

In the 200 free relay, Sufentues split 24.84 on the third leg, combining with teammates Ella Palinsky (24.74), Naima Atay (24.43) and Lisette Soto (23.92) to win the event in a time of 1:37.93.

In the 400 free relay, Sufentues led off in 54.38 to help Jesuit win in a time of 3:33.22. Other team members were Soto (53.46), Atay (53.12) and Natalie Pop (52.26).

The only multi-event winner of the meet was West Linn senior and Washington State commit Lauren Sexton.

Sexton repeated as champion in the 200 IM with a time of 2:02.02, and then won the 100 fly in a time of 54.73.

Other event winners were:

Lakeridge won the 200 medley relay in 1:46.71 behind the team of Hailey Brandvold (27.95), Helena Huettemeyer (28.49), Zoe Chen (26.05) and Cassey Koch (24.93). Clackamas junior Tessa Aberle claimed the 200 free in a time of 1:52.12. Newburg’s Sydney McDonald captured the 50 free in a personal best time of 23.41 after taking 2nd in the event last year. South Medford junior Eleanor Geraghty, a Notre Dame commit, won the 100 free with a time of 50.24. Oregon City senior Rowan Schmidt, a Northern Michigan commit, won the 100 back in 55.48. Lincoln junior Skye Schwartz claimed the 100 breast in a time of 1:03.08.

Boys’ Recap

The individual star of the meet was Sunset senior Victor Krautsov, a Hawaii commit who won a pair of individual titles before the sun set on his high school career.

Krautsov pulled off a double repeat in freestyle events, successfully defending his titles in the 100 free (44.32) and 200 free (1:37.98).

There were two other repeat champions, Sunset senior Luca Ignatescu and Adrienne Nelson senior Drew Eubanks.

A Minnesota commit, Ignatescu defended his title in the 200 IM in a time of 1:49.51, just half a second shy of his lifetime best set in winning the event last year (1:49.01).

Eubanks, who has committed to Tennessee, repeated as champion in the 100 breast with a time of 53.05. It was seven-one-hundredths shy of the record time he set at last year’s meet.

Jesuit was led by senior David Barkley, a Claremont McKenna commit who won the 500 free in a personal best 4:34.32.

Barkley also had a 47.49 split in the second leg of Jesuit’s team in the 400 free relay, which won with a time of 3:07.28.

Other event winners were:

The 200 medley relay was won by West Linn’s team of Sunkook Kim (24.75), Jack Wroblewski (24.59), Ryan Yip (23.81) and Caio Cobb Rodrigues (21.22) in 1:34.37. Wroblewski, a senior for West Linn, won the 50 free in a personal best of 20.73. West Salem senior Jarrod Coy, a Biola University (California) commit, won the 100 fly in a personal best of 50.38. Lake Oswego won the 200 free relay behind the team of Branden Huang (21.43), Jacob Kim (21.36), Alex Epifanov (21.29) and Sully Kirtz (21.01) in 1:25.59. Lakeridge junior Sylvan Schoenhelt won the 100 back in a personal best time of 50.52.
