Free agent cornerback Starling Thomas V has re-signed with the Arizona Cardinals on a one-year deal, the team announced Thursday.
Thomas missed the entire 2025 season after an ACL injury that July.
An undrafted player from UAB, Thomas entered the league in 2023 and had a camp stint with the Detroit Lions before landing with Arizona. He made an immediate impact as a rookie, playing in 12 games with seven starts. He tallied 38 tackles and five pass deflections.

In 2024, he played all 17 games (15 starts) and posted 47 tackles with a forced fumble and six passes defensed. He was a potential starter last season before his injury.
Now, the Cardinals have plenty of returning players in the cornerback room, including 2025 second-round pick Will Johnson, 2024 second-round pick Max Melton, 2025 fifth-round pick Denzel Burke, plus veteran Sean Murphy-Bunting, who revised his contract this month after suffering a season-ending injury last offseason.
That does not include starting nickelback Garrett Williams, who tore his Achilles in December and likely will not be available for the start of the 2026 season.
Arizona also officially announced running back Bam Knight’s return on a one-year deal after the player’s agent announced the agreed-upon contract a day earlier.
