2026 West Virginia Secondary School Activities Association Division 1 State Swimming Championships

Feb. 19-20 Morgantown, WV SCY (25 yards) Results

It was a new format this year for the annual West Virginia Secondary School Activities Association State Swimming Championships, with meets held in two Divisions instead of one as in years past.

In Division 1, it was a sweep for George Washington High School, claiming titles in both the girls’ and boys’ meets.

The girls’ contest was incredibly close, with George Washington prevailing by just one point over runner-up Parkersburg in a meet where seven points separated the top-five teams.

George Washington also won the boys’ title, finishing four points ahead of runner-up Bridgeport.

Girls’ Recap

The meet came down to the last race, where a 3rd-place finish in the 400 free relay was good enough for George Washington to hold on to the team title by the slimmest of margins. Parkersburg was 2nd in the relay.

Morgantown, which finished 3rd in the final team standings — just three points behind George Washington — won the event in 3:52.50 behind the team of Lily Kozel (56.56), Maya Nalcakan (58.95), Avery Householder (1:01.69) and Ellie Perella (55.30).
