ROCHESTER, N.Y. – Monday didn’t see record warmth, but we did make it into the 70s once again under nearly full sunshine! That’s about 30 degrees warmer than our average high of 41°. We’ll stay on the milder side through Wednesday, but it’ll come with some showers and even a few storms. Tuesday will likely pop into the 60s before a lake breeze kicks in, dropping our temperatures. Tuesday will see a few showers, possibly some thunder developing during the afternoon as that boundary drops south.
It’ll be “temperature tug of war” on Wednesday, too. Highs on Wednesday will likely climb into the 60s once again, but a strong cold front will drop us by the evening. Wednesday will be a wetter day, with more widespread showers and a better chance for some storms as our cold front approaches. At this point, we expect our storms to “behave” but a few stronger storms may be possible south into Pennsylvania – close enough to monitor our storm threat.
It’ll be turning much colder for Thursday, with temperatures back into the 30s for highs, but we should see a fair amount of sun returning, as well. Our weather pattern after that will become much more active, with some wet snow developing late Friday, but clearing for the St. Patrick’s Day parade on Saturday. Sunday sees another rain/snow mix, followed by a period of milder air, then a punch of much colder air for St. Patrick’s Day itself on the 17th.
