ROCHESTER, N.Y. — The average price of gas has risen nearly 35 cents in the last week, averaging $3.39 per gallon Monday, according to GasBuddy and AAA.
GasBuddy said the cheapest station in Rochester was priced at $2.79 per gallon Sunday, while the most expensive was $3.59 per gallon. In the state, the lowest price was $2.73 per gallon.
The national average price of gas has risen about 51 cents, averaging $3.45 per gallon Monday, according to GasBuddy.
On March 9, 2021, GasBuddy says gas in Rochester was priced at $2.82 per gallon, with the national average $2.81 per gallon.
AAA said the conflict in the Middle East has sent crude oil prices up over $100 per barrel. The last time oil prices were in this range was in 2022, during the Russia-Ukraine conflict, AAA said.
On March 9, 2022, gas was $4.41 per gallon in Rochester, according to GasBuddy.
Just last year, gas was $3.14 per gallon in Rochester. According to GasBuddy, the current cheapest place to get gas in the Rochester area is Valero on Scottsville Road.
