CUBS LINEUP — Hunter Harvey was one of the Cubs’ riskiest, but highest upside additions to the bullpen this offseason. If you recall, despite throwing just 10.2 innings after August 4, 2024, Harvey got $6M from the Cubs this winter. And that’s because when he’s healthy, he’s a big, hard-throwing, frequently successful 31-year-old reliever. Brett got into more of the background and upside here if you want to refresh your memory.
Anyway, I bring that up because he’s “starting” today against the Giants. And this one is going to be on Marquee, so we’ll get some good eyes on Harvey this afternoon.

Michael Busch, 1B Nico Hoerner, 2B Ian Happ, LF Dansby Swanson, SS Michael Conforto, DH Moises Ballesteros, C Matt Shaw, RF Dylan Carlson, CF Scott Kingery, 3BToday’s group is mostly regulars, with Michael Conforto, Dylan Carlson, and Scott Kingery still vying for bench jobs. Again, I think Carlson and Conforto have a leg up on Kingery (plus Chas McCormick, Justin Dean, etc.), but we’ll see, I guess.
It’s also yet ANOTHER day of catching for Moises Ballesteros, which is awesome. He’s looked surprisingly good, to be honest, which is encouraging. I’m more of a believer that he can occasionally contribute behind the plate this season now than I had been before the spring.
