The villainous Gaston from “Beauty and the Beast” has created a knockoff version of Harry Potter’s signature Butterbeer drink that’s available for a very limited time at Disneyland’s Red Rose Taverne.
The Gaston Brew is available during the 70 Years of Favorites after hours events at the Fantasyland restaurant.

The $7.99 Gaston Brew is described as a butterscotch beverage with a dulce de leche foam topper.
The Gaston Brew tastes remarkably similar to the original Butterbeer drinks sold at Universal theme parks around the world.

The biggest difference was Red Rose Taverne served the Gaston Brew over ice, which took up a third of the glass. A good deal of the whipped topping was wasted as it coated the ice at the bottom of the empty glass.

The restaurant’s staff offered to make the Gaston Brew without the ice — with the same amount of fluid ounces as the iced drink.

Red Rose Taverne served a similarly-named Gaston’s Famous Brew in 2017, according to the Disney Food Blog. But Gaston’s Famous Brew was an apple-mango punch topped with passion fruit foam.

Butterbeer is sold at Wizarding World of Harry Potter themed lands at Universal Studios Hollywood, Universal Orlando, Universal Studios Japan and Universal Studios Beijing.

The Universal parks in California, Florida and China are currently hosting Butterbeer Season events. Butterbeer Season kicks off April 1 at Universal Studios Japan.
Butterbeer sales topped the 20 million mark in 2018 at Universal Orlando, generating approximately $139.8 million in revenue, according to the Botrista beverage technology company.
