I almost hate to even write that headline, because I know that the St. Louis Cardinals have needed a deep rebuild for a while. I don’t actually want to celebrate their looming badness, because it’s likely going to jumpstart a process of getting them back to a much better place eventually, rather than meandering for a while in stagnation. Which was fun.
I also don’t want to make fun of the concessions idea that the Cardinals are rolling out, because I want to support MLB teams that try to give their customers something special. Yes, winning baseball is ideal, but a good experience outside of that matters, too. And affordability.

But this feels like better than nothing, right? And a step in the right direction (following a few other clubs that have experimented with this kind of approach). Not that I’m eager to compliment the Cardinals, but anything that makes the live baseball experience more fun and affordable for fans is something I’m going to support.
