Notable this week: Sage Hill claims the top spot in the final O.C. rankings after reaching the CIF-SS Open Division semifinals. The Lightning’s 22-game winning streak ended in an 86-54 loss at Ontario Christian. Sage Hill’s 27 wins match the single-season school record. … Troy climbs one spot to No. 7 after its run to the CIF-SS Division 1 quarterfinals. … El Dorado and Marina enter the rankings on the strength of their play in the Division 4 playoffs. The Golden Hawks won the title while the Vikings fell to El Dorado 44-34 in the semifinals.
ORANGE COUNTY GIRLS BASKETBALL TOP 25
(Records through Monday, March 2)
1. Sage Hill (27-5): Amalia Holguin averaged 26.3 points in leading the Lightning to a 3-1 record in the CIF-SS Open Division playoffs. Addison Uphoff and Kamdyn Klamberg averaged 10.8 points and 10.3 points, respectively.

2. Mater Dei (24-7): The Trinity League champion went 1-2 in the CIF-SS Open Division and fell to eventual champion Sierra Canyon 79-38 in the quarterfinals.

3. JSerra (20-8): An at-large entry for the CIF-SS Open Division playoffs, the Lions went 1-2 in the Open Division. Vivian Grenald reached 1,000 career points in a 50-43 win against Redondo in a play-in game for the regional.

4. Fairmont Prep (17-14): The Huskies posted a 1-2 mark in the CIF-SS Open Division playoffs and lost to Ontario Christian 114-50 in the quarterfinals. Princeton commit Sarah Aldeguer had 20 points and 10 rebounds in a win against St. Joseph.

5. Villa Park (23-8): Sophomore Lauren Wolfe averaged 15.3 points in the Spartans’ run to the CIF-SS Division 1 quarterfinals. They lost at eventual champion La Salle 50-45.

6. Orange Lutheran (20-9): With no senior starters, Orange Lutheran finished second in the Trinity League and reached the Division 1 quarterfinals. Sophomore Kayla Watanabe averaged a team-high 16.1 points.

7. Troy (22-9): Princeton commit Mei-Ling Perry earned Freeway League MVP for the CIF-SS Division 1 quarterfinalist.

8. Santa Margarita (18-12): The Eagles lost five of their final six games, including 58-45 to Villa Park in the second round of the Division 1 playoffs. Madi Lam recorded a triple-double in a first-round victory at Esperanza.
