The Craft came out before Scream, and that’s one of the reasons why Campbell’s role in this film is more of a supporting turn than a leading performance. In this film, Campbell plays Bonnie Harper, a young teenage witch who is part of a small coven with Nancy Downs (Fairuza Balk) and Rochelle Zimmerman (Rachel True).
When the trio meets Sarah Bailey (Robin Tunney) and witnesses her power, they realize that she could be the fourth member of the coven. As a group, they’re formidable, but each spell they cast to change their fortunes has horrible consequences. Sarah is the only one who tries to turn away from that dark road, and that’s why the rest of the coven quickly turns on her.

4. ‘Wild Things’ (1998)

Wild Things is a twisty thriller that broke Campbell out of her good girl persona from Party of Five and Scream. Campbell and Denise Richards respectively play Suzie Toller and Kelly Lanier Van Ryan, a pair of high school students who accuse their guidance counselor, Sam Lombardo (Matt Dillon), of sexually assaulting them.

The costly fallout from the trial leads Sergeant Ray Duquette (Kevin Bacon) to believe that Suzie and Kelly conspired with Sam to set the whole thing up. Campbell plays a woman named Sarah in Panic, but the story is largely centered on William H. Macy‘s Alex, a hitman who is badly in need of therapy. Alex actually meets Sarah when both are patients of Dr. Josh Parks (John Ritter), and the mutual attraction that ensues is the only bright spot in Alex’s life. He doesn’t have to talk to Sarah about his failing marriage to Martha (Tracey Ullman) or his hitman father, Michael (Donald Sutherland), who pushed him into the family business. With her, Alex can simply be the man he always wanted to become.
Age is just a number when it comes to the affair between Sarah and Alex. But he’s been juggling his double life for so long that his number may be coming up fast.

Scream is the film that elevated Campbell from a TV actress to a movie star. Among final girls in horror films, few can compare to Campbell’s Sidney Prescott. She’s survived five different murder sprees, with her fate in Scream 7 to be determined. But the original Scream is by far the best, as well as Campbell’s most endearing performance. Sidney doesn’t understand why a masked killer is trying to murder her, and she’s definitely not over the death of her mother a year before.
It’s not a huge spoiler to say that Sidney knows the killer in real life, but which of her friends is behind the Ghostface mask? As much fun as that mystery was, it’s even more satisfying to see Sidney turn the tables on her tormentor. This is a young woman who simply won’t stop fighting back.

Clouds is based on the true story of Zach Sobiech (Fin Argus), a teenager suffering from a fatal form of cancer who wanted to pursue his dream of becoming a musician before his death. Future music superstar Sabrina Carpenter costars as Sobiech’s friend and bandmate, Sammy Brown, while Madison Iseman plays his girlfriend, Amy Adamle.
