He also got under the meet record, both of which were previously held by his teammate Jonny Kulow. His performance tonight moves the Luxembourg native up to the #9 performer in history. Fabiani, who arrived at ASU this season, has shown immense progress since transferring from Cal Baptist. Prior to ASU, his bests were 18.82/41.23/1:33.72—he’s since dropped those times to 18.62/40.67/1:31.23.
Fabiani has been on fire so far this meet: he broke the Big 12 meet record in the 200 free, anchored ASU’s 800 free relay in 1:30.88 , led off the 200 free relay in 18.62, and split 40.38 on the free leg of the 400 medley relay. All of the aforementioned relays were either conference or meet records.
