ROCHESTER, N.Y. — — A man was hospitalized early Saturday morning after a stabbing on Flower City Park, and a suspect is in custody.
Officers with the Rochester Police Department responded around 5:10 a.m. to the 200 block of Flower City Park for a report of a person stabbed. Upon arrival, they found a 47-year-old Rochester resident with at least one laceration to his upper body.
Police also located a 48-year-old Rochester man identified as the suspect. He was taken into custody.
Investigators said a verbal dispute between the two men escalated into a physical altercation, during which the victim was injured.
Our photojournalist saw eight police cruisers at the scene and a man being placed into an ambulance.
The victim was taken to a local hospital with non-life-threatening injuries. The suspect was also taken to a hospital for an unrelated medical concern. He will be charged with second-degree assault.
The investigation is ongoing.
