After Valentine’s Day, the Super Bowl and the 2026 Winter Olympics, what else is there to do in February?
Watch films on Prime Video, of course! Watch With Us has curated a helpful weekend guide to the best movies to watch on Amazon’s streaming service.
One of the most popular movies on Prime right now is My Mother’s Wedding, a gentle dramedy about a family reuniting at a wedding.
Our other selections include the underrated Amy Adams rom-com Leap Year and the appropriately rated ’80s sci-fi classic RoboCop.
‘My Mother’s Wedding’ (2025)
When fiftysomething matriarch Diana (Kristin Scott Thomas) announces she’s about to get married again, her three grown daughters react with a mixture of shock and relief. But when Katherine (Scarlett Johansson), Georgina (Emily Beecham) and Victoria (Sienna Miller) arrive at the country estate where the ceremony takes place, they ruminate about their own past romances and whether or not they are truly happy with who they are right now.
My Mother’s Wedding is a comedy-drama that’s more light than heavy. There’s plenty of real-estate porn and golden lighting in bucolic meadows to savor, and everyone’s problems seem quaint compared to the real world. Anglophiles will love the quintessential British humor, while everyone will enjoy the sparkling if slightly catty verbal interplay between the three sisters. Aside from a dodgy English accent, Johansson is great as a woman who loves her job more than anything else. Honey, I can relate.

‘Leap Year’ (2010)
Anna (Amy Adams) can’t catch a break. She’s traveled from Boston to Ireland to be with her longtime boyfriend, Jeremy (Adam Scott), but due to inclement weather, she’s stranded in a small Irish town with no transportation. Desperate, she hires local pub owner Declan (Matthew Goode) to drive her to Dublin to meet up with Jeremy, but their journey is plagued by even more bad luck. In fact, the only good thing that happens to Anna is that she falls in love with Declan and vice versa. But will they admit their true feelings for each other before they reach Dublin?
Leap Year doesn’t deviate from the usual rom-com formula, but it has two secret weapons: the beautiful Irish countryside and Adams, who is one of the most effortlessly sweet actors working today. Her Anna is a rom-com heroine you not only want to root for but be as well. Who wouldn’t want to be caught in a love triangle with Matthew Goode and Adam Scott while venturing around a lush, green Ireland? Leap Year is the stuff movie dreams are made of — it’s just a pity Hollywood doesn’t make these kinds of films anymore.

‘RoboCop’ (1987)
What if one of the best action movies of the ’80s was also one of the best satires ever made? That’s the case with the original RoboCop, Paul Verhoeven’s masterfully sly sci-fi comedy mashup that’s as funny as it is gruesome.
When Detroit police officer Alex Murphy (Peter Weller) is assaulted and left for dead by a gang of criminals, he gets a second chance at life by becoming RoboCop, an android enforcer programmed with three main directives: serve the public, protect the innocent and uphold the law. That’s easier said than done in a crime-ridden, dystopian city like Detroit, but RoboCop’s brutal but efficient methods prove to be a big hit with the public. But when he uncovers a conspiracy within the tech company that created him, RoboCop goes rogue. Sometimes, law and order aren’t so black and white, and RoboCop opts to exact some vigilante justice to settle old scores.
At first glance, RoboCop is just another glossy ’80s action picture with exaggerated shoot-outs and a purposefully absurd premise. But look deeper and you’ll find RoboCop’s not-so-subtle commentary on everything from capitalism and the influence of corporations on the justice system to the nature of the human soul. RoboCop is surprisingly deep for what it is, but make no mistake, if you want gratuitous violence, sex and a guy dripping in acid getting run over by a car, you’ll love RoboCop!
