GENEVA, N.Y. — The former Geneva Police officer accused of selling drugs has pleaded guilty.

Michael Tapscott is set to serve 16 weekends in jail and five years probation. On Feb. 19, an additional indictment was unsealed, charging him with official misconduct and drug charges. He pleaded guilty to 40 counts in total.

Tapscott is accused of selling Adderall while in uniform and in a marked police car. Originally, he was charged with petit larceny, 11 counts of official misconduct, and various drug charges.

Two other people, including another former Geneva police officer, have been charged in connection with the drug sales. Their cases are still pending.

Tapscott’s sentencing is scheduled for April.
