ROCHESTER, N.Y. (WHEC) – The Section V Hockey Sectionals have moved along, with the Class A Championship now set between the Pittsford Panthers and Hilton Cadets.
Pittsford came into the tournament as the 1 seed, but barely got by McQuaid in the quarterfinals, winning 2-1. However, the Panthers put that game behind them, scoring two goals in the first period against rival Penfield, en route to a 4-1 victory.
Hilton found itself down 1-0 after the first period against 6 seed Fairport, but put together a strong final two periods, outscoring the Red Raiders 6-2, for a 6-3 win.
The top two seeds in Class A will now face off as Pittsford goes for its second straight Section V Championship.
