MEDIUM Art Center invites the community to celebrate the Fifth Annual Community Youth Art Exhibition, opening Friday, March 6, 2026.
This year marks five years of showcasing the creative work of young artists across Mendocino County. The 2026 exhibition will be the largest youth show in the program’s history, featuring over 100 pieces of artwork created by artists ages 3 to 18.
The exhibition includes painting, sculpture, drawing, mixed media, photography, and more. Visitors can expect a wide range of styles and subjects shaped by the honesty and imagination that young artists bring to their work.
An opening reception will be held during Ukiah’s First Friday Art Walk on Friday, March 6, 2026, from 5:00 to 8:00 p.m. The event is free and open to the public. Families, friends, teachers, and community members are encouraged to attend and support the artists.
In addition to the show opening, there will be a Youth Makers Market, featuring local makers ages 18 and under selling their handmade wares.
There will be light food and drink. Linda Tucker of Wildchild Studios will lead a community art project for all ages.
Supporting youth in the arts is one of the most important investments a community can make. Programs like the Youth Show give young people a public platform, build confidence, and validate their creative voices. For many participants, this is the first time their work has been displayed in a professional gallery setting. That experience builds pride and a sense of belonging.
Over the past five years, the Youth Show has grown from a hopeful idea into a cornerstone of MEDIUM Art Center’s annual programming. Each year, more families attend, more students participate, and the level of work continues to grow. The exhibition reflects the strength, diversity, and imagination of the next generation.
The show runs from March 6 through March 31, 2026, at MEDIUM Art Center, located at 110 S. School Street in Ukiah.
