WATERLOO, N.Y. — Del Lago Resort and Casino is warning people about fake social media accounts, websites, and apps that are trying to imitate the resort’s official pages.
Del Lago leaders say scammers are trying to lure customers to steal their personal information. The resort will never ask for payments or personal information via social media, text, or direct message. According to Del Lago, the only secure way to make a payment is through its official website, hotel booking engine, or official ticketing provider.
Del Lago says that, if something feels off, you can call the resort at 855-DEL-LAGO. It’s warning people about suspicious giveaways, offers that require payment, phony apps, and phony “support agents” reaching out with urgent requests.
Del Lago is working with Facebook and other regulators to have the scam content removed.
