The NFL Combine is here and it’s just two months until the NFL Draft takes place.
The Broncos have the 30th overall pick in the first round with several needs they could address. Do they look for someone to finally fill that “joker” role Sean Payton wants? How about beefing up that already stout defense? Or will they add the best-available player and see how he fits?
Broncos 2026 NFL mock draft 1.0: Denver passes on skill talent for a safety in first round
Here’s a look at who national draftniks are thinking will land in Denver.

"With Alex Singleton on the verge of free agency, adding a thumper to the lineup could be at the top of Denver's draft wish list. Allen's old-school game fits Vance Joseph's aggressive scheme and approach," Brooks writes.
The Athletic | Chris Kamrani | Updated Feb. 24

"What was already one of the best defenses in the league gets another building block in Allen. He could be the new signal caller for a defense that can once again be one of the most stifling groups in the NFL. He might not have the measurables of recent star Georgia linebackers, but Allen is the perfect glue to connect a dominant front line with an elite secondary. Allen led the Bulldogs with 88 tackles in 2025 and was solid in pass coverage, too. The Broncos have nailed the defensive side of the draft in recent years and would continue that trend here," Kamrani writes. See the full mock draft.
USA Today | Ayrton Ostly | Updated Feb. 18

"Denver's dominant defense will have some holes to fill in 2026, specifically at linebacker and defensive tackle. We're opting for the former here. Allen lacks the size of the Ohio State duo but stands out versus the run and is a sideline-to-sideline defender," Ostly writes. See the full mock draft.

"One of Mendoza's top targets has strong hands and an explosive lower body, allowing him to make plays against tight coverage. Cooper's game-winning catch at Penn State is a perfect example of that. His ability to break tackles is underrated, and he has big-play ability: Cooper's nine receiving touchdowns of 10-plus yards were the most in the Big Ten in 2025. Having another weapon to help further Bo Nix's development certainly won't hurt the Broncos' efforts to break through in the AFC," Podell writes. See the full mock draft.
ESPN | Mel Kiper Jr. | Updated Feb. 24

"McNeil-Warren is a bit of a sleeper right now, but I think he could have been a top-15 pick had he played for a Power 4 team. His performance against Kentucky at the beginning of the season got my attention. He had 11 tackles and a fumble recovery in that game. His tape shows real speed to the football, and he has five interceptions and 12 forced fumbles over his four-year career," Kiper writes. See the full mock draft.

"Sadiq's range surely starts sooner than here, as this would be great value for a Broncos team with limited needs. Coach Sean Payton has long valued a player who can be their 'joker,' a player who is either a top-end receiving back or mismatch tight end," Yates writes. See the full mock draft.

"Denver tight ends recorded an NFL-worst 52.8 PFF receiving grade in 2025. Improved production from that position could take their offense to the next level. Kenyon Sadiq, Bo Nix’s former Oregon teammate, could provide the spark the Broncos need after he led all FBS tight ends with eight touchdowns in 2025," Wasserman writes. See the full mock draft.
