Ben Johnson’s continued chirping at the Green Bay Packers makes my heart sing.
In a discussion with Pro Football Talk’s Mike Florio, Bears Head Coach Ben Johnson continued sharing his public disdain for Chicago’s longest-standing football rival. Florio, in a manner that channelled his inner-Jerry Seinfeld, asked the Bears head coach a simple question — “What’s the deal with the Packers?”
And with a smirk and some laughs, Johnson had some answers.
“Who likes the Packers?”
Hey, that is a fair question to ask!
“The Bears and the Packers, they should not like each other. I think it’s as simple as that,” Johnson quipped. “I think that’s going to make this rivalry, this game, something that people are going to watch going forward.”

That Wild Card Saturday win became the NFL’s most-streamed game ever. A whopping 31.61 million viewers tuned in on Amazon Prime, which saw a plus-43 percent year-over-year increase over Prime Video’s 2025 playoff game. The game was so epic that the postgame show averaged 4.96 million viewers late Saturday night.

“No, no, no,” Johnson said. “We don’t talk.”
“Do you want it that way?” Florio asked.
“I’m good with it,” Johnson replied.
Now, this is the type of energy I want from a Bears head coach when talking about the team’s chief rival. Don’t get me wrong. I got a kick out of seeing LaFleur hanging out with former Bears coach Matt Eberflus at a Marquette basketball game a few years ago. The optics were funny to me, mostly because I found the idea of anyone hanging out with Eberflus at a public function to be hilarious. That the two were courtside made me laugh out loud because of the ridiculousness.
But now that Chicago’s football team is competitive, I have no time for fun and games. And apparently, neither does Ben Johnson.
