Shortly after the release of season 3, the actor, 31, discussed how he approaches his stunts on the Netflix series despite higher-ups’ concerns about liability.
The interviewer then asked how Basso’s family feels about his “line of thinking” on the potential dangers of the situation.
“I don’t ask,” he admitted. “I’m sure they wouldn’t love getting a call that I’ve been permanently injured, but to me, it’s how did it happen? If I’m speeding down the 101 or the 405 being an idiot, they would hate that. But if it was like, he tried to make film history by doing this—that would be sick.”
“I think if I was scared I wouldn’t do it,” he explained. “Having your adrenaline pumping isn’t the same as fear. The minute you doubt yourself—they call it target fixation in skydiving, where you’re looking at a tree or a telephone pole thinking, ‘Don’t hit that,’ and you start drifting there because you’re looking at it. So if you start thinking about the bad scenarios, then you’re setting yourself up.”
Season 3 saw Peter attempting to expose an international conspiracy alongside returning characters Chelsea Arrington (Fola Evans-Akingbola), Jacob Monroe (Louis Herthum), President Richard Hagan (Ward Horton), Aidan Mosley (Albert Jones) and Catherine Weaver (Amanda Warren). New faces included Adam (David Lyons), Jenny Hagan (Jennifer Morrison), The Father (Stephen Moyer), Isabel De Leon (Genesis Rodriguez), Jay Batra (Suraj Sharma) and The Son (Callum Vinson).
