LOS ANGELES — Fairport native Lucas West is moving on in season 29 of NBC’s singing competition “The Voice.”
Coaches Adam Levine and John Legend both turned their chairs for West in the middle of his rendition of Elton John’s “Bennie and the Jets.” West chose to join Legend’s team. The episode premiered on Monday night, and you can watch his performance on the YouTube channel for “The Voice.”
News10NBC spoke with West in January of 2025, as he prepared to sing the National Anthem for the Buffalo Bills vs. Baltimore Ravens playoff game at Highmark Stadium. West also sang the National Anthem for a Bills regular-season game in November of 2023.
West is a senior at SUNY Fredonia, pursuing a degree in music with a focus on jazz.
