Greeley residents can apply next month for city grants of up to $2,500 for neighborhood improvements.
The Neighborhood Improvement Grant Program offers two grant options: a $100 gift card for activities such as clean-up days, block parties and other special events or up to $2,500 for improvements to a community area.
A city news release says eligible projects could include new greenery, improved lighting or even a neighborhood-wide clean-up, but all suggestions for improvements will be considered.
“By giving residents the tools to lead local clean-ups and lasting improvements, the Neighborhood Improvement Grant Program helps keep Greeley cleaner, safer, and more beautiful — one block at a time,” Neighborhood Resource Office Planner Betsy Kellums said in a news release.
The resource office encourages all neighborhoods, blocks and homeowner associations to submit applications. Whoever submits the grant application will be designated as the neighborhood contact. The contact must represent a clearly defined area and have the authority to speak on behalf of that area. Proof of this authority must be provided with the application.
To apply, go to trakit.greeleygov.com/etrakit. Select “Permits,” then “Apply/New Permit” and log in to an existing account or create a new account. Residents should attach all supporting documentation to their applications, including a proposed budget and letters of support from neighbors.
Grant applications open March 1 and must be turned in by April 15.
