GREECE, N.Y. — A local member of the U.S. Navy returned to her hometown with fellow service members for a special event.

The U.S. Navy’s premier band held a free concert Monday at the Greece Performing Arts Center. Attendees enjoyed Navy band music followed by applause.

Chief Petty Officer Pamela Blakely, a Spencerport graduate, was among the musicians on stage. In 2016, Blakely won a national audition for a French horn vacancy with the Navy Band in Washington, D.C.

Tonight’s concert was part of the Navy Band’s Northeast tour celebrating the United States’ 250th anniversary. The band also performed Sunday at the Hochstein Performance Hall in Rochester.
