Elite swimming triplets Jay, Kevin, and Mick Litherland, who compete under the name TRiiiiPSS, are making deep inroads into the Japanese electronic music scene. Their latest collaboration is with Nakajin, a giant in Japan, on the song Satellite.

A former member of the pop band Sekai no Owari, winners of 7 honors at the Japan Record Awards, Nakajin has now set off on his own, moving into DJ’ing and beat making.

“They changed and shifted the Japanese music scene with their creative direction, stepping out of the traditional Japanese pop or even Japanese rock bands,” Jay Litherland told SwimSwam. “Me and my brothers grew up listening to them and always love watching their music videos. So this collab means so much to us.”

Nakajin was a headliner at GMO SONIC 2026 in Tokyo, a huge music festival, where he played Satellite, among other tracks.

Jay told SwimSwam that they first connected with Nakajin at an event in Los Angeles in 2022, and they started talking music and the friendship bloomed from there.

“We actually made this song in our bootlegged home studio,” Jay told SwimSwam. “To see this being performed at the festival in front of thousands, like yo fr me and my brothers were all like wtff this is INSANEE lol.”

The triplets, all former high level swimmers, threw themselves into the Tokyo music and modeling scene last year.

Jay Litherland, 29, is one of the three Litherland triplets who all swam collegiately at the University of Georgia. Triple citizens of the US, Japan, and New Zealand, Jay made the biggest splash internationally, winning a silver medal in the 400 IM at the Tokyo 2020 Olympic Games and the 2019 World Championships. He was also a Pan American Games Champion in 2023 and World University Games Champion in 2015 in the same event.
