ROCHESTER, N.Y. — Several flights were canceled or delayed at the Frederick Douglass Greater Rochester International Airport on Wednesday morning because of dense fog across the region.
News10NBC’s Kristi Blake went to the airport to speak with passengers. One family said their early morning flight to Costa Rica was canceled and they’re scrambling to find out if they can still go on their vacation. Another passenger said his flight was delayed by nine hours, from 5 a.m. to 2 p.m. However, some flights were still listed as on time.
Parker Finger, who’s going with her family to Costa Rica, said she hopes everything works out.
“There was fog, so our flight got canceled. We were going to a place in Costa Rica, but now it’s unclear if we’re going to Costa Rica,” she said. “…I’m kind of upset because I do love going to Costa Rica.”
The dense fog advisory was lifted around 7 a.m., but the First Alert Weather team is also tracking a wintry mix that could bring sleet and freezing rain.
