There is one week left to submit heart-shaped artwork for From the HeART, Townspeople’s fourth annual community art installation uplifting women living with HIV in San Diego County.

Community members are invited to contribute handmade hearts filled with positive messages, artwork, poetry and words of affirmation.

The project centers on visibility and community care for HIV-positive women and femmes, who often face stigma, isolation and barriers to health care, relationships and parenthood, according to the nonprofit.

Organizers said the installation aligns with Townspeople’s mission to prevent homelessness and support medically vulnerable residents.

Participants can download a heart template, decorate it and optionally include their name and contact information on the back. Completed hearts must be dropped off or mailed to Townspeople, 2047 El Cajon Blvd., San Diego, CA 92104, by Monday, Feb. 23.

The hearts will be displayed in the San Diego-based nonprofit’s windows along El Cajon Boulevard through March 31, coinciding with Women’s History Month.
