OAKLAND — A 76-year-old woman was hospitalized after she was shoved to the pavement Thursday in East Oakland by a robber who stole a bracelet and cash from her, authorities said.
The woman was in stable condition recovering from bruises and lacerations, authorities said.

According to initial police reports, the woman was walking home from shopping when a man came up behind her and shoved her to the pavement, causing her to hit her head and suffer cuts to her hands. The robber then took a gold bracelet off her wrist and cash from one of her pockets before fleeing on foot, according to the initial reports.

Thursday’s attack was the second violent robbery of an older woman in two days. About 2:25 p.m. Wednesday, a 73-year-old woman was struck on the head with a pistol and had her purse stolen in a parking lot in the 6200 block of Antioch Street in the Montclair district. She was not hospitalized. The two robberies are not related, authorities said.
