Growing up in California during the Great Depression had Haggard, who passed in 2016 at the age of 79, living in a boxcar-turned-house with himself and his family.

He added: "When you’re in love it’s a fight to stay afloat. It’s something you’ve got to work on every day. People are so different and people change. Life’s a b---h and then you die, really."

On April 6, 2016, Haggard tragically passed away from a battle with pneumonia. He was also born on April 6.
