For four quarters of Class 4A Patriot League action, University imposed its will against its longtime rival, Eaton. The Bulldogs topped the Reds 64-48, completing a two-game league sweep against the Reds this season.
University previously defeated Eaton 50-45 on Jan. 23 in Eaton. The two teams traded momentum in that game.
This time around, the Bulldogs jumped out to a 20-14 lead after one quarter and led 33-25 at halftime before going up by as many as 19 points in the second half. Despite making the periodic run, the Reds (9-9 overall, 5-3 Patriot League) were never in any real position to upend University, the defending 4A champion.

The Bulldogs improved to 15-2 overall, 7-1 in league, and appear to be rounding into postseason form as they try to repeat as champion. University’s girls basketball state championship nearly a year ago was the first girls hoops title in school history.
