New details have emerged about the first-of-its-kind ride coming to Six Flags Magic Mountain that will take thrill seekers on an off-road motorcycle ride over rugged hillside terrain when the new roller coaster debuts in 2027.
Roller Coaster Database recently added speed, height, length and inversion stats for the new Vekoma Thrill Glider coming to the Valencia amusement park.

The still-unnamed coaster will climb to a height of 127 feet before reaching a top speed of 56 mph while navigating four inversion over 3,576 feet of track, according to RCDB.
Blue track and supports have begun arriving at Magic Mountain for the new coaster that will be built on 3.4 acres of the former Showcase Theater site beneath the former Superman: Escape from Krypton coaster.
The new Vekoma Thrill Glider will be similar in style to Magic Mountain’s 1988 Ninja suspended terrain coaster. The new first-of-its-kind ride will feature motorbike straddle-style seats suspended from an overhead track that will hug the hillside terrain.

None of the Vekoma Thrill Glider’s stats will come close to breaking Magic Mountain coaster records for speed (85 mph, Goliath), height (235 feet, Goliath), length (4,990 feet, Twisted Colossus) or inversions (7, Scream and Viper).

Coaster fans learned in January 2025 that a Vekoma Thrill Glider suspended motorbike coaster from Dutch ridemaker Vekoma was coming to Magic Mountain when the Los Angeles County Planning Department approved construction permits for the new ride.

The new first-of-its-kind thrill ride in North America was announced in November 2024 as part of Six Flags’ plan to spend $1 billion on new rides.
The initial 2026 launch date for the coaster has been delayed to 2027. Magic Mountain has begun work on transforming the Bugs Bunny World into Looney Tunes Land for 2026. The reimagined kids land is located directly across the midway from the new 2027 coaster.
