2026 UIL 4A State Swimming & Diving Championships
Prelims: Thursday, Feb. 12, 2026 Finals: Friday, Feb. 13, 2026 Josh Davis Natatorium, San Antonio, TX SCY (25 yards) Meet page Psych sheetEntering this weekend’s University Interscholastic League 4A State Swimming & Diving Championships in San Antonio, it appears it’s going to be hard to top San Antonio-based Great Hearts Monte Vista in both the girls’ and boys’ meets.
The girls’ team is aiming for its third straight state title, while the boys’ team is in a great position to win what would be its fourth straight championship.
Girls’ Preview
Great Hearts Monte Vista will be led once again by seniors Jaylee and Averie Hager, both previous state champions who have committed to Notre Dame.
Jaylee is the two-time defending state champion in both the 100 and 200 free, and holds the top seed in both events after posting respective times of 50.64 and 1:52.19 at the UIL Region 4-4A Sectionals in late January..
Averie won the 100 fly and 500 free two years ago as a sophomore, and the 50 free and 100 fly last year as a junior.
This weekend, she is seeded 1st in the 50 free (22.78) and is again swimming in the 500 free, where she is seeded 4th.
Besides the Hagers, the other individual to watch is Great Hearts Northern Oaks sophomore Madeline Griffeth, who is seeded 1st in both the 200 IM (2:09.87) and the 100 back (55.53).
Other top seeds are:
Georgetown Gateway College Prep senior Eve Schrader (381.05) in diving. Liberty Hill Legacy Ranch freshman Peyton Brown in the 100 fly (59.30). Celina senior Reagan Hix in the 500 free (5:07.00). Comal Canyon Lake sophomore Emma Grace Risen in the 100 breast (1:07.73).In the relays, Midland Young is seeded 1st in the 200 medley and 400 free relays, while Andrews is the top seed in the 200 free relay.
Boys’ Preview
Great Hearts Monte Vista is seeded 1st in the 200 medley relay and 400 free relay, and 2nd in the 200 free relay behind Comal Davenport.
Great Hearts Monte Vista has two individuals who are seeded 1st, those being junior Jax Smith-Ruttan in the 200 free (1:45.03) and sophomore Braeden Hager in the 100 back (52.69).
Comal Davenport senior Caleb Bristow is seeded 1st in two events, the 50 free (21.38) and the 100 free (46.88). Bristow is the defending champion in both events.
Other individual top seeds are:
San Antonio Cole sophomore Cade Kitson in the 200 IM (1:57.81). Corpus Christi London senior Jonah Shelton in diving (357.50). Corpus Christi Tuloso-Midway senior Gavin Lopez in the 100 fly (50.45). Great Hearts Northern Oaks junior Cooper Gray in the 500 free (4:43.86).
