Darden owns several chain restaurants, including Olive Garden, Yard House, Ruth’s Chris Steak House and more. It's unclear which locations will be converted and which will be closing.
"The company believes the conversion locations are great sites that will benefit several of the brands in its portfolio," Darden said in a press release. "Going forward, the primary focus will continue to be on supporting team members, including placing as many as possible in roles within the Darden portfolio."
It was previously reported that Darden wanted to sell the Bahama Breeze chain.
As of their most recent update, however, Darden said it explored a variety of strategic alternatives and it appears their solution of doing away with the brand makes the most sense.
