SWEDEN, N.Y. — A police investigation into a possible shooting in the area of Ogee Trail and Hollybrook Road on Monday — involving a perimeter set up in the area and traffic briefly being shut down — revealed that nothing actually happened.
According to the Monroe County Sheriff’s Office, deputies responded at around 4:20 p.m. after a 911 call came in about someone shot in the area. Deputies, working with Brockport Village Police and SUNY Brockport Police, determined the call was fake — nobody was shot or injured, and there was never a threat to public safety.
The scene has since been cleared, and traffic has been opened back up.
