BLESSING OF THE WATERS: Trumbull County Orthodox churches will host the annual Blessing of the Waters at Epiphany at 2 p.m. Sunday at the Mahoning River at the Warren Amphitheatre in Perkins Park. The event was rescheduled from Jan. 25 because of the snowstorm.
VATICAN EXHIBIT: Our Lady of Mount Carmel Basilica in Youngstown is hosting a “Vatican Approved Eucharistic Miracles of the World Exhibit” 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. Saturday and Sunday.
The exhibit documents 152 miracles of the Eucharist that the Vatican has confirmed with panels cataloged by St. Carlo Acutis, who was canonized by Pope Leo XIV in September.
Acutis, who died of leukemia in 2006 at the age of 15, was an English-born Italian Catholic teenager known for his devotion to the Eucharist and his use of digital media to promote Catholic devotion. Through the exhibit, one can “virtually visit” where the miracles took place.
A small gift shop will be available for guests to purchase a “Miracles of the Eucharist” book and other items.
WHITE MASS: Bishop David Bonnar of the Diocese of Youngstown will preside over the 30th annual White Mass at 12:10 p.m. Feb. 11 at St. Columba Cathedral, 154 W. Wood St. in Youngstown. The Mass will remember in a special way those who are sick.
Workers in health care, human services and the healing professions, as well as those who attend to the physical, emotional, and spiritual needs of others in a non-professional capacity, are encouraged to attend. A light lunch will follow in the St. Columba Parish Hall.
The 2026 White Mass will be celebrated on the Feast Day of Our Lady of Lourdes, which was first designated as World Day of the Sick by St. Pope John Paul II in 1992.
MEN’S MILE MARKER: The annual Men’s Mile Marker will be 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. Feb. 28 at St. Joseph Church, 4545 New Road, Austintown. The event is free and will include fellowship, food and faith. An optional Mass will be at 4:30 p.m. at the church. For information, call Chad at 330-507-8045.
FINAL SERVICE: The congregation of St. James Episcopal Church, 7640 Glenwood Ave., Boardman, will have its final service Feb. 15. The members of St. James have been gathering as a community group of worship since 1809, making it the oldest congregation of the Epsicopal Diocese of Youngstown. The members have been worshipping at the current location on Glenwood Avenue since 1972. The church is closing because of a lack of attendance and decreasing funds.

ITALIAN NIGHT: St. Pope John XXIII Parish-Our Lady of Mount Carmel Church in Niles will have its annual Italian dinner dance at 6 p.m. Feb. 14 at Ciminero’s Banquet Centre in Niles. This year’s theme will be “Verona in Love.” Tickets are on sale at the parish office, after Masses or via QR code on its Facebook page.
BLACK HISTORY CONCERT: Christ Episcopal Church, 2627 Atlantic St. NE, Warren, will present a Black History Month concert celebrating the rich and powerful legacy of African-American composers through the grandeur of the pipe organ. Acclaimed organist Ralph Holtzhauser will perform at 7 p.m. Friday in a program dedicated to music that reflects both historical depth and contemporary vitality.
Holtzhauser is an organist and educator and serves as music director for the Catholic Diocese of Youngstown and St. Columba Cathedral. In 2023, he was appointed professor of organ of the Sacred Music Program at Franciscan University of Steubenville. The free concert is part of Christ Episcopal Church’s ongoing Arts on Atlantic concert series.
VOCATION EVENTS: The Diocese of Youngstown is hosting a series of Praise & Worship Nights for Vocations at various sites within the diocese through June. These nights are meant for people to pray for an increase in vocations to the priesthood, diaconate and religious life.
