WeldWerks was recently named best mid-size brewery at the 2026 Colorado Brewers’ cup, topping all other Colorado breweries producing over 675 barrels per year.
The brewery, opened in 2015 at 508 8th Ave., also received two gold and two silver medals for individual beers.
“Winning a medal at the Colorado Brewers Cup is no easy feat, but to win four and earn a Brewery of the Year award is an unreal feeling,” founder and owner Neal Fisher said. “I couldn’t be more proud of our entire team and their commitment to excellence.”
Two WeldWerks beers brought home gold medals: JuicyFish in the Strong and Imperial Hoppy Beers category and Grandma J’s Strawberry Rhubarb Pie in the Sour Ale category.
JuicyFish (8.6% alcohol by volume) is a hazy double IPA with Azacca, Citra and Eclipse hops brewed in collaboration with Pinthouse Brewing out of Austin, Texas. Grandma J’s (5.3% ABV) is a sour ale with strawberry and rhubarb puree, graham cracker, vanilla and milk sugar.
Juicy Bits, the brewery’s flagship hazy IPA, won silver in the Hazy IPA category — it’s first major competition award.
Extra Extra Juicy Bits won silver in the Strong and Imperial Hoppy Beers category, its second medal earned after winning gold at the 2019 Great American Beer Festival.
The awards are WeldWerks’ first at the Colorado Brewers Cup, which is in it’s second year received nearly 800 entries from 120 breweries, the release states.
“The number and quality of entries at the Colorado Brewers Cup is a testament to the fact that Colorado is home to some of the best beers in the country and truly is the State of Craft Beer,” Fisher said. “For WeldWerks to rise to the top of such a competitive landscape demonstrates our entire company’s constant hard work.”
The Colorado Brewers Guild is a nonprofit that aims to promote, protect and propel independent craft breweries in the state.
