One man was arrested on suspicion of murder and three others were arrested in connection with the August 2025 killings of two men in a homeless camp near Compton Creek, Long Beach police said Tuesday, Jan. 27.
Jesus Arredondo, 40, of Carson, was arrested Jan. 15 on suspicion of the murder of in the killings of 45-year-old Luis Parra and 24-year-old Josue Pacheco, according to the Long Beach Police Department.
At about 8:30 p.m. on Aug. 6, 2025, officers responded to a report of a body in the area of Compton Creek near the 710 Freeway and Del Amo Boulevard, police said. At the scene, officers found Parra and Pacheco suffering from gunshot wounds to the upper body. Both were pronounced dead at the scene.
Arredondo’s bail was set at $1 million. Detectives also arrested three additional people, including a 17-year-old Carson resident, on suspicion of aiding someone who committed a felony, police said. All three were being held on $2 million bail.
Investigators have not determined a motive, and the circumstances surrounding the shooting remain under investigation.
