“My first memory, I don’t know if it is real or not. Obviously [I] have no idea. It was preverbal, I was an infant. I remember where I was, by the windows in our loft across the street overlooking Lafayette Street,” she recalled. “And I had been handed to some other adult that I did not know very well. And they didn’t know how to hold a baby.”
Danes also claimed that when she was learning to walk and couldn’t yet talk, she remembered trying to do “charades” to show her mother what she wanted, but her mom didn’t understand her.
