PORTAGE, N.Y. — A 25-year-old is dead after Livingston County Sheriff’s Deputies say he was involved in a snowmobile crash in the Town of Portage.
On Jan. 25, deputies say they responded to a home on Oakland Road for a missing persons report. They say Adam Curry hadn’t been seen or heard from in over 12 hours, and was last seen on a snowmobile through local trails and fields.
While looking for Curry, Livingston County Dispatchers got a 911 call for a report of a snowmobile into a barn on Smith Road in Portage. The Nunda Police Department and sheriff’s deputies got to Smith Road to find a person dead, that was confirmed to be Curry.
According to deputies, preliminary investigations show Curry failed to make a turn while on his snowmobile through a field on Smith Road on Jan. 25.
The crash is still being investigated.
