During a recent appearance on The Skinny Confidential Him & Her Podcast, the 44-year-old singer, heiress, and actress chatted with hosts Lauryn Evarts Bosstick and Michael Bosstick about her personal struggle with RSD, or rejection sensitive dysphoria.
“Ninety-nine percent of people with ADHD suffer from RSD,” Hilton said, citing her doctor, who is a leading psychologist in the study of ADHD. “It’s kind of just like this, almost like a demon in your mind that is saying negative self-talk to you. It's very difficult at times, but now I know it’s not real. It’s just the RSD kicking in.”

Speaking about her ADHD, Hilton said that growing up, no one really talked about the condition as it pertained to girls and women, instead chalking it up to something “only little boys have.”
Hilton was diagnosed with ADHD as an adult, and though she said she struggled with understanding the effects of the condition in the 2000s and when she was a teenager, today she calls ADHD her “superpower,” and works to reframe the condition, calling out the positive effects it can have.
