From the moment you drive down the palm-tree flanked entrance, you're met with a grandeur that transports you back to the 1920's. Under hand-painted, gold-leaf ceilings finished by Florentine artists and lit by Venetian chandeliers, the lobby still feels welcoming rather than pretentious or formal, so families can relax and let kids be kids.

Jacqueline Cittone Magid of Inviato Travel calls it her favorite resort and says it is her clients’ favorite too, noting, “Everything you could want is at this five-star resort,” and pointing to the hotel’s “high repeat clientele” as proof families come back once they find it.
Why travel advisors keep booking it for families
The Breakers Hotel
When I ask the travel experts why they love sending families here, the answer is simple: It's luxury that actually thinks of families first. Fora travel advisorAmanda Gittens puts it clearly: “The Breakers is one of the strongest family-friendly luxury resorts in Florida, without ever feeling like a traditional ‘kids resort.’” Another Fora advisor, Amy Horrocks, notes she has “extensive experience both staying here and booking clients,” which tracks with how often The Breakers shows up on luxury family shortlists.
The kid amenities that actually matter
The Breakers Hotel
Travel + Leisure’s hotel review also calls out a bunch of kid programming, from one-on-one lessons and art classes to laser tag, plus a video game lounge and classic arcade games that work especially well for tweens and teens.
Even with all its history, The Breakers keeps updating to stay relevant in the ever-expanding tourist mecca of West Palm Beach. The resort recently unveiled brand-new tennis and racquet facilities after a full-scale $12 million renovation completed in December 2024, adding more reasons to book beyond the beach. On the dining front, the resort’s Beach Club added dinner service that is slated to launch in early 2026, which will offer even more healthy options for quick bites.

If you want to leave the resort, Palm Beach delivers

When we did venture outside the resort, Palm Beach impressed us majorly with the incredibly landscaped main square and easy to navigate attractions. We did a Worth Avenue wander, popping into the shops for a quick browse (which led to a few meltdowns because my daughter wanted the most expensive toys) and an al fresco snack, then took an easy bike ride on the Lake Trail, which runs about 5.5 miles along the lagoon with nonstop waterfront and epic mansion views.
