India’s unbeaten run in the ICC Under-19 World Cup 2026 has set up a high-voltage Super Six clash against Pakistan on February 1 in Bulawayo. The fixture was confirmed after the group stage concluded on Saturday, with Ayush Mhatre’s side finishing on top of Group B following a seven-wicket win over New Zealand at the Queens Sports Club.
India wrapped up the league phase with three wins from three matches, collecting six points and sealing first place in the group. That finish placed them in Super Six Group 2, where they will face the teams that finished second and third in Group C. As per the tournament format, India will play two Super Six matches, first against hosts Zimbabwe on January 27 and then against arch-rivals Pakistan on February 1, both in Bulawayo. England, New Zealand and Bangladesh are also part of the group, but India will not face them at this stage.
How India vs Pakistan came into the Super Six picture
The Super Six stage features 12 teams split into two groups of six. Points earned in the group stage against teams that also qualified for the Super Six are carried forward, making every league result crucial. In Group 2, India and England carry four points each into the next phase, while Pakistan, Bangladesh, New Zealand and Zimbabwe start with fewer.
India’s path to the Super Six has been authoritative. They began by bowling USA out for 107 and chased the target with six wickets and nearly 20 overs to spare. The Bangladesh game was more competitive, but India defended 238 comfortably in a DLS-affected contest. Against New Zealand, they were ruthless, skittling the Kiwis for 135 in a rain-shortened match before racing to the target in just 13.3 overs.
Pakistan, on the other hand, had a mixed group stage. They opened with a 36-run loss to England but recovered with back-to-back wins over Scotland and Zimbabwe to finish second in Group C. Their other Super Six fixture will be against New Zealand in Harare on January 27.
The February 1 meeting between India and Pakistan could have a direct bearing on the semi-final race, with only the top two teams from each Super Six group advancing. The first semi-final will be played in Bulawayo on February 3, followed by the second in Harare a day later, with the final scheduled for February 6. India and Pakistan met in the Under-19 Asia Cup final in December, where Pakistan claimed a commanding 191-run win.
