ROCHESTER, N.Y. — The Rochester Americans hosted their annual Military Appreciation Night Saturday as they faced off against the Cleveland Monsters.

The event was in partnership with the Veterans Outreach Center, and honored military personnel and their families.
Before the game, teams comprised of both active and retired military veterans played, the Flower City Warriors and the Fort Drum Mountaineers.
Also before the Amerks game, the second annual Officer Jamieson Memorial Game was played between members of the Rochester Police Department and the Cleveland Police Department.
Ritter, a Webster native, was shot and killed in the line of duty in Cleveland on July 4, 2024.

During the Saturday night game, the Amerks lost to the Monsters 2-1. Also on Saturday, the Buffalo Sabres announced they have acquired defenseman Gavin Bayreuther from the Carolina Hurricanes in exchange for forward Viktor Neuchev. Bayreuther has been assigned to the Amerks.
