LAFC signs Amin Boudri from Sweden’s first division ...Middle East

News by : (Los Angeles Daily News) -

Swedish midfielder Amin Boudri has signed with the Los Angeles Football Club.

The 21-year-old’s acquisition from club GAIS in the Allsvenskan, Sweden’s first division, was announced Saturday.

After the Black & Gold paid a nearly $4 million transfer fee to GAIS, according to reporter Fabrizio Romano, Boudri will be contracted to LAFC through the 2029 season, including a club option for an additional year.

“We’re thrilled to welcome Amin to the club,” LAFC co-president and general manager John Thorrington said in a statement. “Amin is an incredibly talented young midfielder with excellent technique and the ability to both create and score goals. He is coming off a great year in Sweden, where he is recognized as one of the region’s best young players.

“Amin plays with real ambition and belief, and his energy and dynamic ability to impact the game on both sides of the ball will add another important dimension to our group as we compete across multiple competitions.”

Boudri had 48 league appearances (33 starts), contributing eight goals and two assists in Sweden’s top flight. He made his professional debut with GAIS on Feb. 18, 2024.

A native of Hässelby, Sweden, Boudri developed in the youth academy of Stockholm-based club AIK before continuing his development with Venezia Primavera (U-19), the youth program of Italian club Venezia FC.

Internationally, Boudri represented Sweden at the U-21 level, making his debut during a 2-0 friendly win against Republic of Ireland in 2024.

Regarded as one of Europe’s top young midfield prospects, Boudri will occupy an international roster slot and join LAFC’s roster as a U22 Initiative player alongside attacker David Martínez, midfielder Igor Jesus and defender Artem Smolyakov.

Technical on the ball with a penchant for dribbling through pressure in tight areas, Boudri has shown a consistent ability to separate from defenders and be a threat in the final third.

Viewed as a playmaker in the middle of the park, Boudri is expected to add flair and creativity to a midfield group that was more meat and potatoes in 2025.
