The album, Louder Than You Think: A Lo-Fi History of Gary Young & Pavement, is set to release January 30. On January 28 at 5 p.m. PST, the band will host a Bandcamp listening party where fans will receive early access to never-before-heard tracks and have the opportunity to converse with Pavement's Scott Kannberg and longtime friend of Young, Jeffrey Clarke.
Pavement was formed in Stockton, California, in 1989 by Stephen Malkmus and Scott Kannberg. Shortly after, Young joined as the band's drummer and the group began working on their debut EP. Their early work features heavy lo-fi influences due to the rudimentary equipment used during production in Young's studio.
