Alcorn State University locked down amid campus safety threat ...Middle East

The Alcorn State campus in Lorman is on lockdown, and officials have asked students to shelter in place, because of a threat to campus safety, according to information posted to the university’s  Facebook account Thursday morning. did not specify the threat. 

Operations are expected to resume at noon. 

University officials would not provide additional information. Alcorn campus police confirmed the university remains on lockdown.

The Mississippi Institutions of Higher Education, which have a regularly scheduled meeting this morning, went into closed session to discuss matters including security and personnel plans related to the situation at Alcorn.
