— Deryc Plazz (@DerycPlazz) January 22, 2026Plazz, listed at 6-4, 310 pounds, heads to Auburn after 2 seasons with the Hurricanes. He redshirted in 2024 and made 4 appearances in the 2025 campaign, including UM’s win over Ohio State in the College Football Playoff quarterfinal.
As for why he chose to play for Alex Golesh, Plazz enthusiastically told 247Sports that those involved with the AU program won his pledge.
“The people sold me on the program,” Plazz told Christian Clemente of Auburn Undercover. “The support staff as well as coaches. Everyone is genuine and speaks of Coach Golesh in high regard — that stood out to me. Coach Hoodie (offensive line coach Tyler Hudanick) has a legit plan for me and a vision to develop me.”
Out of Jacksonville (Florida) Mandarin High School, Plazz was rated 3-stars, the No. 58 interior offensive lineman, No. 101 recruit in the Sunshine State and No. 738 prospect overall on the 247Sports Composite for the Class of 2024. He signed with Miami out of 40 scholarship offers and has 3 remaining seasons of eligibility.
