Wow, wow, wow. Yes, the Los Angeles Clippers were shorthanded, but it sure didn’t look like the Chicago Bulls had any trouble taking care of business last night. They played a beautiful brand of basketball, and did it in front of QB1 and PCA, no less. Honestly, what more could you ask for?
With another win in the books, the Bulls are somehow inching closer to a real playoff spot. Not the fake, awkward play-in territory, a legitimate playoff position. And with the trade deadline approaching and mixed signals on Chicago “selling,” you’d better hope they win it all.
Let’s talk Bulls basketball.

Chicago just took down one of the hottest teams in the NBA, snapping the Clippers’ six-game winning streak. Yes, without Kawhi Leonard, this wasn’t the same group that had won 13 of its last 15, but the Bulls can’t control who’s in front of them. They beat the roster that was on the floor, and that’s all that matters. Bulls 3-Point Barrage Annihilates Kawhi-Less Clippers 138-110 — January 20, 2026 With the win, Chicago now owns the second-longest active winning streak in the Eastern Conference and sits just four games behind the third-seeded New York Knicks. The fact that this team hovered around .500 without Josh Giddey, and now has him nearing a return, has me buying into some playoff propaganda.28-point Bulls Win ??? pic.twitter.com/DTwwZURehS
— Chicago Bulls (@chicagobulls) January 21, 2026 Watching this masterclass were two people who know a thing or two about delivering one themselves. In attendance at the United Center were Caleb Williams of the Chicago Bears and Pete Crow-Armstrong of the Chicago Cubs. The two have been making appearances around the UC lately, most recently spotted together at a Blackhawks game. It’s hard not to get excited seeing the faces of Chicago’s future filling the seats at the United Center. The city’s sports landscape feels bright, and hopefully, the Bulls can keep playing their way into that conversation too.QB1 & PCA in the house ? pic.twitter.com/RAGpLJ1N2H
— Chicago Bulls (@chicagobulls) January 21, 2026 When the league announced the list of NBA All-Star starters, everyone, and their mom, noticed a LeBron James–shaped hole. For the first time since 2004, LeBron James was not voted in as a starter. He’ll likely still make the roster as a reserve, which is impressive in its own right at 41 years old. But the fact that he wasn’t automatically penciled in caught plenty of people off guard. The NBA All-Star Starters! EAST: Giannis Antetokounmpo Tyrese Maxey Jalen Brunson Cade Cunningham Jaylen Brown WEST: Luka Dončić Nikola Jokić Stephen Curry Shai Gilgeous-Alexander Victor Wembanyama
— NBA (@NBA) January 19, 2026 ESPN/Andscape reporter Marc Spears likened the moment to Michael Jordan not being voted in as a starter during his final season. Back then, Jordan’s longtime rival Isiah Thomas famously asked Vince Carter to give up his starting spot so Jordan could take the floor one last time as a starter.“LeBron James not being a starter was somewhat surprising to me,” Spears said. “Michael Jordan went through the same thing in 2003. The difference is Michael Jordan said he was retiring. When they got to the game in Atlanta, Isiah Thomas—Jordan’s rival—begged one of the East starters to give up their starting spot so Jordan could start.”

— NBA on ESPN (@ESPNNBA) January 20, 2026 We’re also less than a week away from Derrick Rose’s jersey retirement, and the Bulls are wasting no time making it special. Chicago just announced a collaboration with Derrick Rose on a one-of-one retail collection that will drop on the day of the ceremony, and it’s loaded. The collection includes a hoodie ($110), a letterman jacket ($350), short-sleeve shirts ($50), a long-sleeve shirt ($60), snapback hats ($45), a Wilson basketball ($40), and even a SLAM collaboration ($48). On top of that, a custom menu for the night was teased during the pregame show on CHSN. They’re really going all out for the kid from Chicago.Introducing The Rose Collection ?Available online & in the Madhouse store on 1/24. pic.twitter.com/WCn7SyEPrK
