ROCHESTER, N.Y. — Planning a summer getaway? Well things just got easier.
Budget airline Avelo Airlines announced Tuesday it is extending flights out of the Frederick Douglass Greater Rochester International Airport through August. Travelers can book trips to four popular destinations, including Nashville, Tenn., Orlando, Fla., Raleigh, N.C., and Durham, N.C.
In October, the airline added a nonstop flight route between the Rochester airport and Lakeland International Airport in Central Florida.

More recently, the airline announced it closing its base at Wilmington International Airport in North Carolina, cutting off direct flights from Rochester to Wilmington.

The decision was made as the looks to streamline operations around its four primary bases, such as New Haven, CT; Philadelphia/Delaware Valley; Charlotte/Concord, N.C., and Lakeland, Fla.
