ROCHESTER, N.Y. — Reju, a French textile-to-textile regeneration company, plans to establish a $390 million textile regeneration hub on a vacant lot at Eastman Business Park in Rochester. A project that will use 18.9 acres to aim towards creating 70 new jobs.
This project aims to foster innovation in the region, with a focus on creating economic opportunities.
The French company focuses on making solutions for regenerating polyester textiles and post-consumer waste from discarded textiles.
The company plans to create approximately 70 jobs, including engineering, technical, and various production roles.
“New York State is committed to creating good-paying jobs, and supporting innovative projects and companies that are working to keep materials out of landfills and protecting our planet,” Governor Hochul said.
The Empire State Development is adding $4 million through a capital grant to help Reju with the project, offering up to $1 million through the Excelsior Jobs Tax Credit Program.
Other contributors include Monroe County, the City of Rochester, and the Greater Rochester Enterprise.
Reju expects the location to be operational by the end of 2029.
